An example of re-purposing

My new bench!
The top is a very strong steel-reinforced plastic pallet meant for carrying
metal beer kegs, recovered from Marloes Sands;
I can easily cramp timber onto it.
The frame is, of course, all wood from the beach.
Note the anti-rot foot pads of industrial nylon (also off the beach).
The vice is at least 90 years old: it was my grandfather’s.
It’s a French design, originally aimed at the aircraft industry;
rather cleverly, the two front half-posts can be unlocked and independently rotated
to hold circular or even irregular-shaped items.
