Marloes blossom

No special photo, but I think the blossom is important: the first on this tree, ever. And as the tree was grown by me from a pip, however the apples turn out (fingers crossed assuming at least some flowers set) they will be unique… And some such new varieties I have grown over the last 20 years are proving delicious eaters, and good keepers too!

I love the complimentary shape of the blossoming pear branches and the still bare Italian alder; I sometimes think of the pear tree as a lead ballerina and the alder branches as the chorus line echoing her pose.
