Poem: Away from the news for a while

25th May 2022

Sun sharply hot from a deep so blue:
The foxglove-purpled green heat of late May.

Stir of tall grasses, brustle of newshine leaves:
You, morning-swum, lie
Dappleskinned salty by seabreezed trees.

Body at rest;
But mind threading thoughts,
Finding and weaving words.
