Damsons down, onions up!

I was waiting for the Merryweather damsons to thoroughly ripen on the tree; but yesterday as well as the odd windfall a cluster of three had disappeared off its branch, possible evidence of a squirrel at work…
So, trug time!
Only clustered this close to catch yesterday’s sun on my outdoor workbench.
Now spread in the shed on slatted trays.
Variety: Sturon.
